A fishing boat in pastel
Flinders pier
Artist Emily Holsman was strolling along the pier at Flinders, admiring the various boats moored alongside when this image captured her attention.
She set about creating a painting that she later entitled ‘Simplicity,’ capturing the quaint and quite nature of a solitary fishing vessel floating next to two buoys, the water reflected in their round orange surfaces.
We have included a series of photos that show the progression of ‘Simplicity’ from a simple charcoal outline to the finished pastel painting.
